RODNEY BAPTISTE SENTENCED FOR CAUSING DEATH BY CARELESS DRIVING
Rodney Baptiste of St. Kitts has been sentenced for the offence of Causing Death by Careless Driving, committed on February 15th, 2019.
On February 27th, 2026, at the Basseterre High Court presided over by His Lordship Justice Patrick Thompson Jr., Mr Baptiste’s sentence was handed down as follows:
One (1) year suspended sentence for two (2) years;
He was ordered to pay sixty thousand dollars (XCD $60,000) in compensation,structured as follows:
Twenty-five thousand dollars (XCD $25,000) payable by April 30th, 2026
Twenty-five thousand dollars (XCD $25,000) payable by August 31st, 2026
Ten thousand dollars (XCD $10,000) payable by September 30th 2026
The suspended sentence will be activated if Mr Baptiste is convicted of any further driving-related offences during the suspension period.
