MINISTER’S YOUTH FORUM INSPIRES PARTICIPANTS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN ST. KITTS AND NEVIS

Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 29, 2018 (SKNIS): Participants at Wednesday’s (November 28, 2018) 2nd Annual Minister’s Youth Forum expressed their appreciation for the interactive session that saw important information being shared by the leadership of the Department of Youth Empowerment and the Ministry of Youth relating to government’s youth development agenda.

Dvonne Cornelius, a youth activist based in Nevis, was among the more than 100 youth who attended the forum held at the Ocean Terrace Inn.

“Today’s forum was very informative,” he said. “I got the opportunity to learn about the different ideas that will be implemented in the education sector in St. Kitts and Nevis. It was very good to be a part of – having the young people share their ideas and perspectives on ways how to make the education sector better.”

RUSVM THANKS ST. KITTS AND NEVIS FOR OPENING UP ITS DOORS TO THE STUDENTS OF DOMINICA’S STORM-AFFECTED CAMPUS

 

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, November 29, 2018 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – Adtalem Global Education Inc, the parent company of Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM), is saying a big thank you to the Government and people of St. Kitts and Nevis for the level of hospitality and goodwill extended to the students and faculty, who were temporarily relocated here in 2017 from the Dominica-based campus.

In October of last year, more than eleven hundred (1,100) medical students and over 150 faculty and staff of the Ross University School of Medicine came to St. Kitts and Nevis to continue their classes onboard the GNV Excellent vessel, after the institution’s campus in Dominica suffered severe damages during the passage of Hurricane Maria.

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, November 29, 2018 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – Today, Thursday, November 29, 2018 is a very special day in the lives of the people of Constituency #7, as it marks exactly 25 years since they first elected Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris as their Parliamentary Representative with a show of overwhelming support in the general elections of November 29, 1993, then in five subsequent elections in 1995, 2000, 2004, 2010 and 2015.

As the leader of the tripartite Team Unity coalition of the People’s Labour Party (PLP), People’s Action Movement (PAM) and Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM), Dr. Harris became the third Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis after the February 16th, 2015 general election.
