SANDY POINT RESIDENTS GIVE THUMBS UP TO GOVERNMENT’S ROOF REPAIR PROGRAMME 
Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 12, 2018 (SKNIS): The government’s roof repair programme continues to positively impact the lives of persons whose roofs were damaged during the passage of category five Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Residents of Sandy Point are the most recent beneficiaries.

In an interview with a Sandy Point resident, John Thomas, he expressed his gratitude for the Government of National Unity.

“I want to thank the government for what they have done for me,” he said. “They took the galvanise off of my old ceiling as it was rotten. Now the government has put on a new roof, it is working very fine. Thank you very much for the help.”

Poverty Alleviation Programme: $500 monthly support pay out starts in November, advises PM Harris

 

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, October 12, 2018 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, has announced that pay outs of the highly anticipated $500 monthly support through Team Unity Administration’s Poverty Alleviation Programme will begin next month, November.

Prime Minister Harris made the announcement on Friday October 12 while a guest on the People’s Voice Programme on Sugar City 90.3 FM hosted by His Excellency Ambassador Michael Powell, during the launch of the radio programme’s website. Ambassador Powell who announced that the show was streaming live on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and Twitter, asked the Prime Minister to give an update on the Poverty Alleviation Programme.

SENIOR MINISTER AMORY SIGNS DECLARATION TO PROTECT CHILDREN FROM EXPLOITATION THROUGH WORK

 

Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 11, 2018 (SKNIS): Children in St. Kitts and Nevis now have an added layer of protection from any exploitation through work that deprives them of their childhood with the recent signing of the Declaration on the Establishment of the Regional Initiative: Latin America and the Caribbean Free of Child Labour.

The Declaration was signed on Thursday, October 04, 2018, by Senior Minister and Minister of Labour, the Honourable Vance Amory, during the 19th American Regional Meeting of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Panama.
