REPORT OF ARRESTS, CONVICTIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES

 

Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 24, 2018 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of arrests, convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period September 04-14, 2018.

 

ARRESTS AND BAIL:

Arrested: Justin Leonard of St. Peters was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Battery. 

Arrested: Austin Emmanuel Huggins of New Road was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Battery and Threatening Language.

Arrested: Yanick Harris of Stapleton Housing Development was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Battery and Resisting Arrest.

SECRETARY-GENERAL LAUNCHES INNOVATION AWARDS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

 

Commonwealth, September 24, 2018: The Commonwealth Secretary-General’s Innovation for Sustainable Development Awards was launched to celebrate the most outstanding innovators and innovations from any of the 53 Commonwealth countries.

With a total of £30,000 available in prize money, the Awards seek to showcase impactful innovations and forward-looking solutions that are helping Commonwealth countries and people achieve sustainable development, while advancing the values in the Commonwealth Charter.

Female National Heroes: An oversight Government is looking towards correction  

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, September 24, 2018 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — While the five National Heroes whose life-size bronze statues were unveiled on Monday September 17 at the National Heroes Park were males, Prime Minister Dr the Hon Timothy Harris has hinted it might have been an oversight that no female is among them. He has advised that his administration is looking towards making correction.

Tropical Depression Kirk tracks westward but its future is uncertain

Tropical Depression Kirk continued on a fast track toward the Caribbean — but there’s a chance it may not make it there, according to forecasters.

The National Hurricane Center on Monday is also tracking Subtropical Storm Leslie and two other areas in the Atlantic.

Kirk is the only storm that could affect land, and if it did it wouldn’t be until later this week.
