TWO ATTEMPTED MURDER INCIDENTS BEING INVESTIGATED BY POLICE

 Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 29, 2018 (RSCNPF): The Police are currently investigating two attempted murder incidents that occurred in Newton Ground and St. Peters overnight.

The first report was of a shooting incident in St. Peters. It was received at about 8:35 p.m. on July 28, and several units responded. Preliminary investigations have revealed that 35-year-old Winston Johnson of John England Village, St. Peters was going into his vehicle at his home when he heard several gunshots. He ran for cover and received a gunshot wound to his buttocks while doing so. He was transported to the JNF Hospital for surgery and is warded in a stable condition. The scene was processed by Officers from the Crime Scene Unit and items of evidential value were taken into custody.

PROPERTY TAX AMNESTY EXTENDED…HOMEOWNERS URGED TO TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE

 

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, July 27, 2018 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – Homeowners in St. Kitts and Nevis, who are in arrears on their property taxes with the Inland Revenue Department (IRD), are being encouraged to take advantage of the extended amnesty programme announced by the Government earlier this month.

Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, while speaking at his most recent press conference on July 17, revealed that his Team Unity Cabinet made the decision to extend the amnesty on property tax following a request by the Comptroller of the Inland Revenue Department, Mr. Edward Gift.
