Businesses Continue To Collapse Under Harris-led Government

The financial grip around the necks of businesses in the Federation has increased in pressure, causing many entrepreneurs and small business owners to throw in the towel and close their doors for good.

An unprecedented number of businesses have reported that since Prime Minister Timothy Harris and his cabal took over the government in 2015, there has been an intense ‘squeeze’ in the economy. Other businesses around the country are either presently selling out to close down, or downsizing because of the poor local economic climate.

From an economic growth rate of 6.5 to 7 percent in 2014 and early 2015, the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis’ economy has been contracting year after year under the PAM/CCM/PLP government.

A mere 1.9 percent was recorded at the end of 2017.

Businessmen and women have begun to attack the PAM/CCM/PLP government for their lack of vision and ingenuity. Persons are also complaining about the present lack of policies and programmes that serve to benefit businesses and ease the economic squeeze.

To this date, the people have yet to receive any assurance from Timothy Harris and his government as to which direction the country is heading in, or any predictions on the economic climate in the months to come.

Harris is engaged in enriching himself and the pockets of his close families and friends.

The country has no direction. Harris must be stopped.
