Former PLP chairman blasts PM Harris for not
attracting one foreign direct investment since taking office

Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 22nd 2017 – Douglas Wattley, former chairman of Prime Minister Dr . Timothy Harris’ Peoples Labour Party (PLP) is crying shame on his former leader for being unable to attract one foreign direct investment since taking office in mid-February 2015.
“Almost three full years and the so-called Team Unity cannot show one major development negotiated for St. Kitts – not one foreign direct investment opportunity of note,” posted Wattley on his FaceBook page.

Verchilds High School celebrated its 25th Anniversary.

Verchilds High School launched their contestant for the National Carnival Teen Pageant 2017 Miss Shavonie Gumbs in grand style today. It was indeed a great celebration. VHS won the National Carnival Talented Teen last year and is looking forward for a repeat.

Verchilds High School celebrated its 25th Anniversary. The anniversary service took place today at the Faith Tabernacle Church in Old Road. The service was a great blessing!

Vat Day, Tax And Duty Concession Approved For December 2017

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The usual duty and tax concessions given in December will be in effect this year, the government has confirmed.

From December 1st to December 31st packages of food items would be allowed free of duty and taxes for the first 400 lbs and imported non-commercial packages and the passenger allowance up to US$200 would also be allowed free of duty and taxes.

More than eleven hundred (1,100) medical students are being relocated temporarily to the Federation

More than eleven hundred (1,100) medical students are being relocated temporarily to the Federation to attend classes and live on the floating campus. More than one hundred and fifty (150) faculty and staff will also be here – children and families will accompany some of them – and many of them will be living on land. Some students began arriving by charter on Wednesday, October 18th. The spillover economic effects are expected to be significant.

NRP blasts supervisor, Electoral Commission;   sends letters to regional and international bodies

Charlestown, Nevis, October 20th 2017 – The opposition Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) is threatening legal action against the newly-appointed Supervisor Mr. Elvin Bailey and the Electoral Commission over apparent clandestine attempts to disenfranchise voters and has copied letters documenting concerns on several issues to the Federation’s Governor General, Prime Minister, Electoral Commission and regional and international organisations of attempts by the St. Kitts and Nevis Electoral Office.
