BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, AUGUST 17TH 2017 – With a fifty percent decline in the Federation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) since the Timothy Harris-led PLP/CCM/PAM administration took office, deputy political leader of the opposition St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNL), Dr. Earl Asim Martin said recent reports from regional and international financial institutions and businesses confirm the dramatic reduction in the quality of life of the people.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a forty one (41) year old resident of Vanard, Anse La Raye, namely Sherwin Auguste also known as “Shervy”.
Officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department, Castries, received a report of a shooting, at Ravine Poisson, about 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2017.

The St Kitts and Nevis Karate Association has made a donation to the St Kitts and Nevis Sports Department!!
Our Vice-President Clement Johnson, pictured below right, made the hand off of about 30 pair of futsal/football boots, goalkeeper gloves and shin pads to Mr Jeffrey Hazel of the SKNSD. These boots were donated to Secretary Ryan Borcyk from the Empire Soccer Academy in Rochester, NY.
The SKNKA is pleased to make such donations in an effort to raise all sports within the federation!

CORPORATE PARTNERS COME ON BOARD WITH POLICE SUMMER YOUTH CAMP

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 15, 2017 (SKNIS): The inaugural Police Summer Youth Camp has a wide variety of activities to keep the 200 participants positively engaged over the next two weeks including movie screenings, sports, picnics, a boat ride to Nevis, and a parade day. Factor in lunch and snacks for the 14 days for the participants and camp officials and it carries a hefty price tag.
To this end, a number of private entities have partnered with the Ministry of National Security and the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) to sponsor and donate in kind to the August 14 to 27 camp. The Coalition of Support for St. Kitts-Nevis Security Initiatives is one such entity. It was launched in 2011 and has as its members the St. Kitts Marriott Resort, Ross University, Royal Beach Casino, Windsor University, Royal St. Kitts Hotel and the Four Seasons Resort.
