In spite of the inclement weather, national teams participating in the 3rd OECS Championships fiercely competed for glory, honour and a chance to qualify for the World Championships in the summer. Host country led from the front on the opening day of the OECS Games as friendly rivalry was keen between nine countries in the OECS region. PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, Tuesday July 4, 2017 – Even though the number of cases of Zika have significantly declined from the outbreak of 2016, there is still need for continued vigilance and action on mosquito borne diseases, which pose a health security threat, a tourism threat, and an economic threat, Executive Director of the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) Dr James Hospedales has warned.

Greene completes UN Special Envoy on HIV/AIDS, assumes role with UNAIDS.CARICOM/PANCA​P

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JULY 4TH 2017 – Guyana-born Edward Greene, has completed his tenure as the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Envoy on HIV/AIDS to the Caribbean Region.

He was first appointed to the post on January 1, 2012 and it ended on June 30, 2017.
