REPORT OF ARRESTS, CONVICTIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES

Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 26, 2017 a period (RSCNPF): Below is a report of Arrests, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period 22nd – 25th June 2017.

Arrested: Gerard Rubaine of Main Street Saddlers Village was arrested formally charged and cautioned for the offences of possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to supply.


Arrested: Justin Isles of Barnes Ghaut was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Possession of Cannabis.

Arrested/Bailed: Johnny Rawlins of Newtown was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Larceny and receiving. He was granted bail in the sum of $2500.00 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on 3rd July, 2017.

Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 28, 2017 (RSCNPF): A Citizen Safety patrol in Ottley’s Village on Tuesday evening (June 27) has resulted in the seizure of an illegal firearm and matching ammunition.

Dr. Denzil Douglas to deliver Third Annual Emancipation Day Lecture in St. Maarten

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, June 26th 2017 –St. Kitts and Nevis’ former Prime Minister, the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas is the keynote speaker at the Third Annual Emancipation Day Lecture at University of St. Martin (USM) in Dutch St. Maarten.

He has been invited by the Independence for St. Martin Foundation (ISMF) to speak on the theme, “The Realities of Independence” on Saturday July 1st 2017 at 8:00pm.

Dr. Douglas, currently, the Leader of the Opposition, served as Prime Minister of the Federation St. Kitts and Nevis from July 1995 to February 2015 and remains one of his country’s noted political leaders.

Grenada to host 38th Regular of Caribbean Heads of Government

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JUNE 28TH 2017 – The Caribbean nation which assisted the Peoples Republic of China in the Ren Biao stand-off with St. Kitts and Nevis will host next month’s 38th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

 The meeting takes place in Grenada from 4th to 6th July 2017, under the Chairmanship of the Prime Minister of Grenada Dr. Rt. Hon Keith Mitchell.

Notice – Canada imposes a visa requirement on Antigua and Barbuda

Ottawa, June 26, 2017— As of 5:30 a.m. EDT June 27, 2017, citizens from Antigua and Barbuda will need a visa to travel to Canada. At that time, any existing electronic travel authorization (eTA) issued to a citizen of Antigua and Barbuda will no longer be valid, and these travellers will not be able to use their eTA to travel to Canada.
