Divorced Couple Charged with Murder of Young Trinidadian Policewoman

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, Monday March 20, 2017 – A man and his ex-wife have been charged with killing a young policewoman who joined the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service just four months ago.

Kenneth and Melissa Browne appeared before Chief Magistrate Marcia Ayers-Caesar in the Port of Spain Magistrates Court today, accused of killing 22-year-old Constable Nyasha Joseph, whose body was pulled from the Gulf of Paria off Port of Spain last Wednesday, a week after she went missing.

Jailed Jamaican Dancehall Artist Vybz Kartel To Get Chance To Appeal For Freedom

KINGSTON, Jamaica, Monday March 27, 2017 – After serving three years of their life sentences, Vybz Kartel and his co-convicts are set to make an all-out bid for their freedom in another six months.

An Appeal Court judge recently gave the green light for the convicted murderers to launch their appeal.

Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Andre St John, and Kahira Jones, were all convicted on March 13, 2014 of Clive “Lizard” Williams on August 16, 2011.

Thomas Tavares-Finson, attorney for Kartel, described the development as an “important step in the appeal process”.

FIREARM AND 15 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION RECOVERED AT SITE OF SHOOTING ON NEVIS

Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 26, 2017 (RSCNPF): Officers responding to a shooting incident at the Cotton Ground Playing Field on Sunday (March 26) discovered and seized a Glock 9mm pistol with a magazine containing 15 matching rounds of ammunition.

The shooting incident occurred about 4.00pm on Sunday (March 26) and resulted in the death of one person.  

The firearm was seized and ballistics analysis will be carried out.

This find brings to eight (8), the number of firearms removed from our communities so far in 2017.

Boozies on the Strip was broken into

Thieves break in to Boozies on the Strip

 

Basseterre, St. Kitts-Thieves on Tuesday morning broke into beach bar Boozies on the Frigate Strip and made off with many valuable items.

The burglars made off with a significant amount of top-shelf drinks, juices cigarettes as well as uncooked chicken wings. The management will issue pictures and video from the security camera footage of the burglary in progress.
Police have confirmed that they are investigating the matter as well as a robbery of Pizza Boys restaurant in Frigate Bay on Saturday Evening
