Hon. Hazel Brandy-Williams, Junior Minister in the Ministry of Social Development on Nevis
NIA CHARLESTOWN NEVIS (March 17 2017) – In keeping with its continued commitment to women’s empowerment within the context of the new Sustainable Development Agenda, the Ministry of Social Development in collaboration with the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP) will on March 22-23 2017, convene a two-day Regional Women’s Forum. It will be held at the Mount Nevis Hotel from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The initiative, which is the brain child of the Junior Minister of Social Development in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA), Hon. Hazel Brandy-Williams, is part and parcel of her and her Ministry’s thrust to encourage women to take a more active role in leadership and to examine best practices throughout the region for implementing priority areas of development for women and girls.
