ILLEGAL FIREARM & AMMO RECOVERED IN NEWTOWN


The Police have recovered an illegal firearm on St. Kitts. During a routine search of an abandoned building located on East Street, Newtown, St. Kitts, officers recovered one (1) Glock-19 with an extended clip containing fourteen (14) rounds of ammunition. No one has yet been held accountable for the contraband find.

– 5 in the Brimstone Hill/island main road accident

2. Shida Ayanna Jarvis of Buckley’s, SK (age 19) – Respiratory distress due to multiple traumatic injuries

*Island Main Rd Traffic Accident (Brimstone Hill) – Dec. 11, 2024*

1. Ian Sylvestre Jules of Newton Ground, SK (age 35) – Multiple traumatic injuries

2. Dejorn Davis of Old Road, SK (age 25) – Respiratory distress due to multiple traumatic injuries

3. Malique T’Quan Rawlins of Newton Ground, SK (age 21) – Multiple traumatic injuries

4. Rosina Agatha Herbert of Sandy Point, SK (age 64) – Multiple traumatic injuries

5. Belinda Paul of Newton Ground, SK (age 65) – Multiple traumatic injuries

– ⁠1 in Keys *(Joycelyn Straun)*

– ⁠2 in Newtown (hit-and-run victim by SOL, *Marlon Francis*; and also *James Morton)*

JOHNSON LONG PATH ROAD FATALITY UNDER POLICE INVESTIGATION

The Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred on January 11th, 2025, on the island main road at Johnson’s Long Path, in the vicinity of Ross University. The incident resulted in the death of four (4)-month-old Mekairi Edwards of Half Way Tree, St. Kitts.

The St. Kitts-Nevis National Carnival Committee (SKNNCC) is thrilled to announce a remarkable increase in air passenger arrivals to the Federation during the just concluded Sugar Mas 53 period. In a year-to-year comparison, during the 2024 festivities, over 16,000 air travelers arrived at the RLB International Airport, a significant increase of more than 4,000 passengers from the previous year’s Sugar Mas 52, which welcomed over 11,900 arrivals during the same time.
