Basseterre, Saint Kitts, May 13, 2026 (PMO) — In another major step toward transforming healthcare access and strengthening social protection in St. Kitts and Nevis, the Government has officially launched a new Digital Insurance Card system that will allow approximately 8,500 public servants to access real-time medical claims processing without having to pay full costs upfront or submit reimbursement forms.

At the Caribbean Investment Summit held in Saint Lucia this week, St. Kitts and Nevis walked away with the evening’s most coveted prize. The federation’s Citizenship Programme was named Programme of the Year, the summit’s highest honour, along with three further awards recognising its efficiency, regional influence, and contribution to sustainable development.

IMF Reports Stay-Over Arrivals to St. Kitts and Nevis Have Surpassed Pre-Pandemic Levels
 

Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis, May 8 2026 (PMO) — The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has reported that stay-over arrivals to St. Kitts and Nevis have now exceeded pre-pandemic levels, underscoring renewed international confidence in the Federation’s tourism industry and broader economic outlook.

In its 2026 Article IV Staff Report on St. Kitts and Nevis, the IMF stated that “Stay-over tourist arrivals have exceeded pre-pandemic levels,” while further noting that “cruise arrivals have continued to recover gradually.”

The IMF’s findings represent another strong endorsement of the continued recovery, resilience and expansion of the tourism sector under the Drew-led administration, despite ongoing geopolitical tensions, rising transportation costs and broader uncertainty affecting the global travel industry.

SAINT KITTS AND NEVIS TO ESTABLISH HIGH COMMISSION IN SINGAPORE

Basseterre, Saint Kitts, May 07, 2026 (SKNIS): Saint Kitts and Nevis is expected to expand its diplomatic influence in Southeast Asia with the establishment of a High Commission in Singapore.

On Wednesday’s (May 06, 2026) edition of InFocus, Senior Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Right Honourable Dr. Denzil Douglas, announced that the twin-island Federation has secured an Agrément from the government in Singapore and will “very shortly” open the new diplomatic facility. This is significant as no other Caribbean country has such a facility in the country.
