Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 24, 2019 (SKNIS): St. Kitts and Nevis joined the rest of the world on Wednesday, April 24, to celebrate the hard-working and dedicated administrative professionals for their sterling contributions to the workplace.
 
Administrative Professionals Day, which is celebrated annually on the Wednesday in the last full week of April during Administrative Professional Week (April 22-26, 2019), recognizes the work of secretaries, administrative assistants, receptionists and other administrative support professionals.

Chairman of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris of St. Kitts and Nevis extends heartfelt condolences to the people of Grenada and the Caribbean who over the weekend lost Vice Chancellor Emeritus of the University of the West Indies (UWI), the Hon. Sir Alister McIntyre, OCC, OM, CCH.

The Grenada-born developmental economist, who spent over 25 years serving in prominent posts, both regionally and internationally, was 87 years old.

April 24, 2019                                           FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

 

 

The High Command of The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force noted, with great interest, the public discourse on the Liquor Licence Act.  In Chapter 18.21, section 23, the Act states at that “all premises with respect to which a licence is issued under the provision of this Act for the sale of liquor by retail shall be closed on Good Friday and Christmas Day from 9 a.m. until 7 a.m. the following morning.”

ONE PERSON CHARGED IN RELATION TO STABBING INCIDENT 

Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 24, 2019 (RSCNPF): Glenroy Samuel of Conaree was formally charged with a warrant on April 24, 2019.

Samuel was charged in the first instance with the offence of Attempted Murder for an incident that took place on April 20, 2019 at Warner Park.

ST. KITTS-NEVIS OBSERVES VACCINATION WEEK 2019 WITH ACTIVITIES AIMED AT SENSITIZING AND RE-SENSITIZING PUBLIC ON BENEFITS OF GETTING VACCINATED

Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 23, 2019 (SKNIS): The Federal Ministry of Health has planned a number of activities in celebration of Vaccination Week in the Americas 2019, which runs from Saturday, April 20 to Saturday, April 27, under the regional slogan “Protect Your Community. Do Your Part. #GetVax”.

During the period April 23-25, health officials will carry out a Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Vaccine Promotion and Sensitization at Prenatal and Child Health Clinics. Health Education on Vaccine Preventable Diseases and Vector borne Diseases and Health Education on Vaccination Schedule in Nurseries, Pre-Schools and Daycare Centres will be done from April 23-26, as well as a “Mop-Up” Vaccination Campaign to Address Defaulter Children up to the age of 5 years. In Nevis, a Measles Simulation Presentation to Healthcare Workers will be done on Tuesday, April 23.
