Security and Commissioners of Police from the Member States held in St. Kitts and Nevis on Thursday (June 8).

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of National Security, Mr Osmond Petty,  Commissioner of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force Mr Ian M. Queeley and Deputy Commissioner Mr. Hilroy Brandy joined their counterparts from Antigua and Barbuda, the British Virgin Islands, Dominica, St. Lucia, Grenada, St. Vincent and Grenadines and representatives from the CARICOM Implementation Agency for Crime and Security (IMPACS) and the Regional Security System (RSS) at the meeting.

CHARGES LAID IN CHURCH GROUND SHOOTING INCIDENT

Basseterre, St. Kitts, June, (RSCNPF): A suspect taken into custody on suspicion of the shooting death of Lydia Jacobs has been arrested, formally charged and cautioned.

Arrested and charged is Alston Phillips of Hamilton Estate Nevis.

He was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of murder which was committed on Friday night (June 02).

He has also been charged with two (2) counts of attempted murder.

Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 09, 2017 (SKNIS): In celebration of World Accreditation Day 2017, on June 09, the St. Kitts and Nevis Bureau of Standards (SKNBS) hosted a seminar, which was focused around this year’s theme “Delivering Confidence in Construction and the Built Environment.”

The seminar, which was held at the SKNBS office at La Guerite, not only discussed issues related to the theme, but involved accreditation and/or certification in other sectors, including the medical and testing laboratories, manufacturing and the like.

NATIONAL ASSEMBLY MEETS ON TUESDAY JUNE 13

Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 09, 2017 (SKNIS): The Order Paper has been circulated for a Sitting of the National Assembly to be held at the National Assembly Chambers, Government Headquarters, Basseterre, on Tuesday 13th June, 2017, at 10:00 am.

Several Bills will come before the House, some for their first reading and others for their second reading.

The Honourable Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Sustainable Development, National Security, People Empowerment and Constituency Empowerment, Dr. Timothy Harris, will seek leave to introduce and have read a first time Public Accounts Committee Bill and Saint Christopher and Nevis Citizenship (CBI Escrow Accounts) Bill.
