COACH MOLINA: “WE HAVE TO BUILD FROM THIS”

The Sugar Boyz recent two match friendly series in Europe against San Marino, was preparation for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, explains national team coach Francisco Molina. The Sugar Boyz won the first of the two matches 3-1 and drew the second 0-0 last month, creating history in the process. The result means the Sugar Boyz are unbeaten in the series and defied all the odds in the international media in claiming a victory against the European team.


Now, national team coach Francisco Molina, says it is important to build on this momentum, especially with crucial matches such as World Cup qualifiers are approaching later is year. Firstly, he expressed satisfaction that seven players made their international debut in these matches. “Very proud of the boys. This puts us in a very positive pathway moving forward. Moving forward is very important for us to build up for the World Cup qualifiers…these ae not friendly games. These are preparation games for us,” Coach Molina said. “We have to keep being positive and build from this.” In the historic win against San Marino last month, here Sugar Boyz go on the scoresheet: Tyquan Terrell (31st minute), Andre Burley (45th minute) and Harry Panayiotou (49th minute). This summer, the Sugar Boyz will be playing World Cup qualifiers against Grenada, Costa Rica, Trinidad and Tobago and the Bahamas.

There were wins for Hotsprings Bath United, Honda Newtown United, Flow 4G Cayon Rockets
and SOL IAS Conaree FC in the latest round of matches in the NBGC Premier League, just
before the easter weekend. In the first match up on Wednesday March 27 at Warner Park, Bath
defeated Trafalgar Southstars 2-0 with both goals coming from Keon Smithen and Venreece
Richards. Then at the NBGC Technical Center, Newtown returned to winning ways with a 3-1
drubbing of Development Bank St. Peters FC.
