Basseterre, Saint Kitts, November 20, 2025 (SKNIS) – The Government and people of Saint Kitts and Nevis extend heartfelt congratulations to Senator, the Honourable Isalean Phillip, Minister of State with responsibility for Social Development and Gender Affairs; Youth Empowerment, Ageing and Disabilities, for  being named one of this year’s recipients of the Saint Mary’s University Young Alumni of the Year Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to public service.

The award was presented during the Saint Mary’s University Alumni Awards Reception held on November 19, 2025, celebrating alumni who have made significant global contributions in their respective fields.

The Dr. Denzil Llewellyn Douglas Secondary School’s property was defaced and the principal’s name maligned.  The Ministry of Education condemns this malicious and disrespectful act and will work with the police to find the perpetrator(s).

ODAINE WRIGHT SENTENCED FOR TRAFFIC OFFENCES

Odaine Curtis Wright of Lodge Project, St. Kitts, has been sentenced to two (2) months imprisonment for the offence of Driving Without Insurance and six (6) months imprisonment for Obstruction. The sentences are to run concurrently. He was also cautioned for Driving Without a Valid License and Failing to Comply with Traffic Directions.

Mr. Wright was sentenced on September 4th, 2025, at the Basseterre Magistrate Court by His Honour Renold Benjamin.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force continues to remind all road users of the importance of adhering to traffic laws and regulations, as non-compliance carries serious legal consequences.
