FIREARM UNCOVERED IN ST. PETERS DURING SEARCH OPERATIONS

Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 18, 2018 (RSCNPF): Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Terrance James, has lauded Police Officers for removing another illegal firearm from our communities.

Friday morning (February 16), Police Officers from the Tactical Units were conducting search operations in Stapleton, St. Peters and found one (1) LT .25 pistol with one (1) round of ammunition.

Removal of illegal firearms from the streets is one of the areas of priority in the strategic plan of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force. As a result, the Force has taken several measures to reduce the number of violent crimes that occur. ACP James, who is responsible for the Operations Directorate, stressed the critical role of these officers in that effort.

“Every illegal firearm taken into Police custody could have been used to commit a crime. When these brave men and women go out on their various operations, they are doing so to ensure that our society is safe. That you and your family are safe. And that their families are safe. They help to ensure that our strategic plan produces results,” the Assistant Commissioner said.

“We need more brave men and women, like them, to help rid our communities of illegal firearms and drugs. We need more people who are ready, willing and committed to serving our country,” he added
