HISTORIC WATER CONFERENCE OPENS AT THE UN
Permanent Mission of St. Kitts and Nevis (New York, March 22, 2023)—St. Kitts and Nevis is well represented at the Opening Ceremony of the highly-anticipated United Nations Water Conference. This is the first of its kind to be convened at the UN since 1977. The Conference, which convened under the theme ” Our watershed moment: Uniting the world for water” brings together world leaders, diplomats, civil society organizations, and thought leaders on the critical matter of Water as a common denominator in the successful implementation of the SDGs, especially Goal 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation. Today’s opening also coincides with World Water Day, which acknowledges that water is the essence of life and all efforts must be made to ensure its sustainable use.

SUGAR BOYZ OFF TO ANGUILLA AHEAD OF CNL MATCH AGAINST FRENCH SXM
The Sugar Boyz departed the island on Tuesday morning to Anguilla where they will play
French St. Martin on Thursday—the first of two Concacaf Nations League matches. Manager of
the team Jamir Claxton, said all is in place to ensure the team is properly prepared ahead of the
match. “Everything is under control. Everything has been well-coordinated. We have a very
good team working in the background as well supporting me, including the General Secretary
Techell Mclean, Mr. (Cuthbert) Caines, the Head of Delegation, and other members of the
SKNFA Secretariat,” Claxton said.

The chairman of NHC, Mr Shawn White and President of the St.Kitts and Nevis Contractors Association, Mr Lenox Warner, met to discuss ideas on how both entities can work together to foster a new relationship.
The focus of this meeting was to reassure the Association that they are an integral part of the NHC’s new housing revolution. One of the key takeaways from the meeting was that any new technology being undertaken by NHC must include all contractors and stakeholders who will be fully trained in these building methods. There will be a meeting held shortly with a larger subsection of our nation’s contractors to further discuss and brainstorm the way forward for construction methods and technologies in the Federation.
