ISLAND CONSTABLES FOR TOURISM PRESCRIBED AREAS BEGIN TRAINING

 

Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 23, 2019 (RSCNPF): Training for Island Constables who will work in Tourism Prescribed Areas commenced at the Police Training School on Monday, January 21 with about thirty (30) participants.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is partnering with the Ministry of Tourism to deliver the training. Persons who successfully complete the month-long course will be sworn-in by the Governor-General. National Security Adviser, Retired Major General Stewart Saunders, said over the next few weeks the participants will learn about the law, how to write reports and take statements. He added that they will be exposed to training in how to improve their observation skills, interacting with people, and learn about the history of St. Kitts and Nevis, as well as the history of the Tourism Industry. Training will also include how to give accurate directions, customer service and conflict resolution.

Car air fresheners have been around for quite some time. The most popular being the disposable Little Trees air freshener (you know, those tiny trees you always see hanging from people’s rear-view mirrors).

While many of us drive around with these multi-scented Little Trees and other similar devices that pump out fragrance into our cars, do we ever actually think about what those smells could be doing to our body?

As more and more people become more aware of the products that trigger their headaches, dizziness and other negative symptoms, I think it’s time we also pay attention to products we might not even consider – like Little Tree air fresheners.

Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 22, 2019 (SKNIS): The Ministry of Education, through the Curriculum Development Unit (CDU) is, this week (January 21-25), holding a number of sessions to engage with stakeholders to map the way forward for the National Curriculum Reform.

Policy Goal Two of the 2017 – 2021 Education Sector Plan addresses strengthening the quality and relevance of education at all levels in order to improve learning. An important outcome of Programme Area Two is the implementation of a revised national curriculum and learning assessment system.
