St. Peter’s, St. Kitts, March 20, 2018 – Tuesday night’s Town Hall Meeting held by the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) has been described as “a thought-provoking national discussion this was – a refreshing relief from the derogatory diatribe that drooled from the community centres in recent times.”
Social activist Shez Dore-Tyson in a blog on FaceBook said persons attending crammed the hall at the St. Peter’s Anglican Church Hall to hear the facts and truth of the downward spiralling St. Kitts and Nevis economy, the upward trending crime statistics and the peeling away of the social fabric and dignities that the country once enjoyed.

Police confirm murder of Cayon-born Sandy Point resident
Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 19, 2018 – Police on Monday confirmed the seventh official murder in St. Kitts and Nevis for 2018, after a Sandy Point resident was shot dead on March 17.
“Police received a report that a shooting had occurred at about 9:10 p.m. on Saturday at Crab Hill. Investigations so far have revealed that 30-year-old Calvin Archibald, who resided in Sandy Point, but is originally from Cayon, was sitting in a shop when an unknown assailant shot him multiples times,” the police statement said.

Care for an ageing population – PM Harris commends the diasporic community

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, March 20, 2018 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — Prime Minister, Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, on Saturday March 17 held a breakfast meeting in Frigate Bay, Basseterre, where he held discussions with St. Kitts and Nevis’ Honorary Consul in Ontario, Canada, Dr Winston Isaac, on matters of national building and the constructive engagement of senior citizens in that effort.

Dr Isaac who was rounding off a busy week-long visit to St. Kitts was accompanied by one of his associates Dr Samir Sinha, who is a geriatrician. According to the Honorary Consul, the purpose of the visit was to help and promote the care of the elderly, as St. Kitts and Nevis has an ageing population.
