15 months after, Ministry of Health still to take up offer of free Nurse Call equipment

Ontario, Canada, November 29, 2017 – Fifteen months since Sandy Point-born Kittitian Joel Bartlett, who lives in Canada, informed the Ministry of Health of a donation, the equipment remains in the North American country.

“I made this post since September 2016. I donated the equipment to the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis. They were given to me free of cost with a value about $4000 Canadian for the hospitals on the islands,” said Bartlett in a FaceBook posting Wednesday.

Bartlett disclosed that he contacted the Ministry of Health.

“I called time after time and I send emails. During my visit in December last year, I took it again on myself and went and look at the existing Nurse Call system and made recommendations. My company gave them a quote on a modern system .I told them again, I would do the work for free once they pay for my ticket to come home,” said Bartlett.

“Today, the equipment is still in my apartment,” said Bartlett.

He said during a meeting on Tuesday by the VP of the company he was asked for an update.

“I felt so bad to tell him they never contact me to ship the equipment. I don’t want to throw anybody under the bus, but can somebody please tell the Ministry of Health, if they don’t want the equipment to email me, just like how they did in the past or let me take them back to my company,” said Bartlett.
