CHAPMAN CHARGED WITH MURDER

Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 28, 2018 (RSCNPF): Wayne ‘Spyer’ Chapman of Bucks Hill, Hanley’s Road was formally charged for the murder of the late Shirley Dawn Morton.

On January 21, 2018, after responding to a report, Police found the lifeless body of 45-year-old Shirley Dawn Morton of Hanley’s Road with visible injuries to the head. An autopsy later revealed that the cause of death was multiple blunt force traumas to the head causing brain injury.

Police investigations into the matter are continuing.

Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris is joined by Cabinet Colleagues Deputy Prime Minister Hon Shawn K Richards, Senior Minister Hon Vance Amory , Hon. Lindsay Grant, Hon Ian Patches Liburd and Hon Wendy Phipps are at the Opening Session of the Nevis Island Assembly and the Delivering of the Throne Speech. Also present are Hon A Micheal Perkins Speaker of the National Assembly and Senator Akila Byron-Nisbett.
The Throne Speech will be delivered by Her Honour Marjorie Morton, acting deputy governor-general for Nevis; the Oath of Allegiance will be taken by members of the Nevis Island Assembly; and the president of the House will be elected.
