Young Money Entertainment Event Permit was denied

Buckie Got It…. once again Young Money Entertainment has face an uphill battle trying to keep an event in the federation. After months of planning his event Detention with Jamaican artist Shenseea along with many local DJs and two (2) bands last night (3 June 2017), the permit was denied on the very same night.

The last time he was face with this similar situation was some years ago with Jamaican artist Alkaline who was slated to perform in Nevis. However after a rough battle of negotiation with the police officers and Christian council, the Rt. Hon Douglas came to his rescue and the show was kept in St. Kitts instead of Nevis. The same artist was invited back here in St. Kitts to perform with no conflict.

Statement on the “Blue Finance proposal” issued by “The Department of Marine Resources”

Contrary to reports being circulated, there is no agreement in place between Blue Finance and the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis to manage our marine space.

St. Kitts and Nevis Marine Management Area (SKNMMA) was established on August 18th 2016. The Department of Marine Resources has received a proposal from Blue Finance to assist the Federation with the management of these vulnerable marine resources in a sustainable manner.

KITTS, JUNE 2ND, 2017 (PRESS SEC) – Safeguarding the public’s respect and confidence in St. Kitts and Nevis’ security forces is a priority of Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris’ administration, which has established robust policies and procedures to protect the integrity of law enforcement agencies and officers.

“When the public has confidence in the integrity of our security forces, this leads to better information-sharing by them with regard to criminal activity,” Prime Minister Harris said during his press conference on Wednesday, May 31st, 2017 while discussing stricter recruitment vetting in the Ministry of National Security.

SKN Sugar Boyz Prep For Armenia, Georgia Matches In Europe

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN); The St. Kitts and Nevis national senior men’s football team the Sugar Boyz is presently in Europe preparing for two important matches.

The Sugar Boyz, #89 in the FIFA World Ranking, will face #68-ranked Armenia on Sunday, June 4th, then on Wednesday, June 7th they come up against Georgia. Georgia is ranked #122.

Thrizen Leader of the St. Pauls United football club will captain the 20-member squad for the European tour.  Ten of the players are based in the United Kingdom- Romaine Sawyers, Lois Maynard, Jason St Juste, Jacob Hazel, Harrison Panayiotou, Michael Nottingham, Omari Sterling, Theo Wharton, Nathan Lescott, and Zephaniah Thomas.

Raheem Somersall is based in the USA, Gerard Williams in Trinidad, Justin Springer in Canada and Tishan Hanley in the Philippines.

Second Woman Shot Dead In Nevis

Police have since issued the following report:

Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 03, 2017(RSCNPF) Investigators from the Violent Crimes Unit are investigating a shooting incident that was reported at 10.55pm, on Friday (June 02) in Church Ground Nevis that resulted in the murder of one person.

The victim is identified as Lydia Jacobs, a 37 year old female.

Investigations revealed that Ms. Jacobs was shot in the yard of her residence by an unknown assailant(s).  She was taken to the Alexandria Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
