Crime Prevention Tip For The Day (Home Safety)

Always lock your doors and windows. Before retiring for the night, walk your home and hand touch all windows and doors to ensure they are properly secured. Doors should be locked with a deadbolt. Install guards on windows that prevent them from being raised more than a few inches. Never leave a key hidden outside under the mat or in a flower pot for friends and family. Burglars look there as well.

FIREARM AND AMMUNITION DISCOVERED IN UNACCOMPANIED BAGGAGE – SEVENTH (7th) YEAR TO DATE

Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 20, 2017 (RSCNPF): A firearm and sixty-eight (68) rounds of ammunition were discovered and seized in a piece of luggage that arrived at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport on Thursday (March 09) onboard a flight from the United States.

The luggage was unaccompanied and tagged to a passenger travelling to St. Kitts. The passenger never arrived in the Federation.

Found was one (1) Taurus (.357 Magnum) revolver and sixty-eight (68) .357 rounds of ammunition, two (2) speed loaders and a holster.

No one in St. Kitts attempted to claim the luggage on behalf of the passenger. The discovery was made while following routine security protocols for unaccompanied luggage.

The matter is being investigated jointly by Her Majesty’s Customs and Excise Department and the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force. The investigation continues.

Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 21, 2017 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of Arrests, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period March 16th – 19th 2017.

ARREST AND BAIL:
Arrested: Allister Audain of Laguerite Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to supply, committed on March 17th 2017 at La Guerite

Arrested: Jason Liddie of Millionaire Street was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply

Arrested: Dexter Huggins alias Muffin of Buckleys Estate was arrested formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Malicious Damage committed on the March 16th 2017.

Arrested: Prestol Phillips of New Road Housing was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the following offences which were committed on March 18th 2017, Resisting Arrest, Obstruction, Assault and Simple Wounding.

REPORT OF ARRESTS, CONVICTIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES

Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 14, 2017, (RSCNPF): Below is a report of Arrests, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period March 11-12, 2017.

ARREST AND BAIL:
Arrested: Jahbal Henry of Upper Cayon was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply to another

Arrested: Shaline Cannonier of Hermitage, of Cayon was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply to another

Arrested/Bailed: Marcus Phillip of Shadwell Estate was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply, He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday, April 03, 2017.

Bailed: Steven Chiverton Herbert of Keys Village who was arrested and charged for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday, April 03, 2017.

OTHER ACTIVITY:
Larceny from Dwelling House: Police responded to a report of Larceny from Dwelling House on Sunday March 12, in Lime Kiln. The V/C reported that left home at 2pm and returned at about 4.55pm. It was later discovered that a Play station 4 and two games were missing. A check of the home and there was no sign of forced entry. Surveillance footage from the neighbour’s house was viewed but nothing useful was obtained. The investigation will continue.

Search warrants Executed: Police executed a number of Search Warrants during the period of this report. Warrants were executed on properties in the following areas: Crab Hill- Mount Idle and Soho Housing, Farms Site all areas in Sandy Point, Bird Rock, Hamilton, St Paul’s and Sand Down Road (New Town). The warrants were executed in search of illegal firearms and ammunition, illegal drugs, and instruments that can be used in criminal activity.

Abandoned Properties Search: Police continues to execute searches of abandoned properties and lots; most recent searches were done in the following areas: Fahie Street, Romney ground, Herbert Street – George Street both areas in (New Town)

Violent Crimes Unit , Crime Scene Unit and the St. Kitts Nevis Defence Force returned from duty and reported that three (3) Abandon buildings, three (3) derelict vehicles and four (4) empty plots of land were searched for Controlled Drugs, Arms, Ammunition and implements used in the commission of crimes in the Government Road and Bath Plain area in Nevis.

Officers in the Nevis Division and St.Kitts Nevis Defence Force reported that they searched an abandoned building in the Long Point area and discovered fifty eight (58) marijuana plants ranging from 6 inches to 3 feet in height. The plants were uprooted and Seized.

Traffic Accidents: There were twelve (12) accidents on the federation’s roadways (9) in St. Kitts and (3) in Nevis during the period of this report.

Citizen Safety: Officers were out and about in all communities in efforts to ensure Citizen Safety. A number of Vehicle Check Points, Stop and Searches were conducted during the period of this report. These led to a number of arrest, and issuance of citations for a number of traffic violations.

Community Engagements: Officer continue to engage citizens in the communities where they serve. Providing safety tips in attempts to equip residents with information to reduce their risk of becoming victims of property and other crimes. Officer are continuing visits to local businesses in efforts to encourage embrace of security measures.

ARREST AND BAIL:

Arrested: Stephen Chiverton Herbert, was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession with intent to supply. The offences were committed in Conaree Village March 10, 2017.

Bailed: Davin Wilson of Ottley’s Village was granted bailed by Her Honour Miss Harris in the sum of $50,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday, 3rd April, 2017. He was charged with Possession of Cannabis, Possession with intent to supply and Trafficking.
