RSCNPF ACHIEVES 57%HOMICIDE RESOLUTION RATE IN 2024


The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) is proud to announce a notable achievement in 2024: solving sixteen (16) of the twenty-eight (28) homicides committed across the Federation. With a resolution rate of 57%, this accomplishment reflects the dedication and professionalism of the RSCNPF in delivering justice and ensuring public safety. The Force attributes this achievement to strategic advancements, including increased training for officers, stronger inter-agency collaboration, and improved engagement with the public.

LEROY BOONE SENTENCED FOR INDECENT ASSAULT


Leroy Boone of Nevis has been sentenced to serve four (4) years in His Majesty’s the crime of Indecent Assault. Additionally, Mr Boone was ordered to the victim in the sum of One Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty ($1,750.00) Eastern Caribbean dollars. This is to be paid on or before April 30
th, 2025.

TWO CHARGED FOR FORENSIC LAB BREAKING


Inon Nias and Vernon Nias, Jr., both of Greenlands, St. Kitts, have been charged for the offence of Building Breaking with Intent. The criminal offence was committed on October 2nd, 2023, at the Tabernacle Forensic Lab. Both men were charged at the Basseterre Police Station with Vernon Nias Jr. being charged on December 18th 2024, and Inon Nias being charged on December 19th, 2024.

New Earth Network Initiative leverages the St. Mary’s Biosphere Reserve to drive Economic Activity

Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis, December 23, 2024 (UNESCO National Commission) – The Federation’s St. Mary’s Biosphere Reserve (SMBR) in Cayon, St. Kitts and Nevis, has been the focus of vigorous attention by the United Nations specialised agency, UNESCO, over 2024.  Initially launched in 2011 as an UNESCO accredited Man and Biosphere (MAB) recognised and protected reserve – and the first reserve of this nature to be created in the English-speaking Caribbean – the SMBR has since been identified as ‘setting the biodiversity standards for small islands’ according to Dr. Antonio Abreu, Director, Division of Ecological and Earth Sciences at UNESCO, who oversees the worldwide list of 727 biosphere reserves.
