SUGAR BOYZ READY FOR BAHAMAS CHALLENGE


After an adverse result last week, the Sugar Boyz are looking to get their Road to 2026
Campaign back on track when they host the Bahamas today at Warner Park at 4pm. After a final
training session at Warner Park Monday evening, Coach Molina expressed confidence the team
will be up for the challenge later today in the World Cup Qualifier against The Bahamas. “In
Costa Rica we played 38 good minutes and then we lost concentration…we are trying to get 90
minutes together,” the coach said. “The game is super important for us. Keeps us in the fight;
keeps us looking forward looking for the next qualifying window so that’s what we are focusing
on. The boys are working hard and we have a game plan behind us,” he added.

St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee Elects New President

Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis, June 7, 2024 — The St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee
(SKNOC) convened a brief yet meaningful General Assembly last night, June 6, 2024, to elect a
new president following the passing of former President Alphonso Bridgewater.
The nomination process yielded one candidate, Mr. Dennis ‘Freddie’ Knight, who has served as
Vice President of the SKNOC for many years under the leadership of the late President
Bridgewater. With no other nominations, Mr. Knight was declared the new President of the
SKNOC.

THE ROAD TO 2026 BEGINS TONIGHT

The Sugar Boyz do battle with Costa Rica tonight in the first FIFA World Cup Qualifier for the
Road To 2026 Campaign. The players left St. Kitts and Nevis last week to Costa Rica ahead of
their match tonight, which begins at 10:30pm at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica. Coach of
the St. Kitts and Nevis Senior Men’s National Team Francisco Molina said preparations have
gone well and he is satisfied with the squad he selected for these qualifiers. “It’s a very balanced
team. We have two players in each position which gives a lot of competition and a lot of choices
to pick from,” Coach Molina said.

SECURITY FORCES, SANDY POINT REMAIN TOP TWO TEAMS IN DIVISION 1


Jones Group Sandy Point FC continues their good run of form in the SKNFA Division 1 league
with a come from behind 3-1 victory over Molineux FC on Wednesday June 5, 2024 at the
NBGC Technical Center in St. Peters. Ossie Bute gave Molineux the lead in the 11 th minute but
Dequan Joseph, Deshaun Collins and Kori Phillips each scored for Sandy Point in the 62 nd , 68 th
and 7 th minute of stoppage time to give Sandy Point the win. Physio for Sandy Point Kenny
Douglas, said his team stuck to the game plan and delivered the three points.
