DR. DOUGLAS’ DIPLOMATIC PASSPORT MATTER HEADS BACK TO THE COURT THIS WEEK

 BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, June 13, 2018 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – Opposition member for St. Christopher 6, the Honourable Dr. Denzil Douglas, will head back to the High Court on Friday, June 15 to answer to legal actions brought against him by one of his constituents, challenging his eligibility to serve as a Member of Parliament while he holds and has traveled on a diplomatic passport issued to him by the Commonwealth of Dominica.

REPORT OF ARRESTS, CONVICTIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES

Basseterre, St. Kitts, June, 12 2018 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of arrests, convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period June 09-11, 2018.

ARRESTS AND BAIL:

Arrested: Réice Warner of Farms Road, Sandy Point was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply. 

Arrested/Bailed: Gurminder Singh of Half Moon Bay, Frigate Bay was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Battery on Police, Obstruction and Resisting Arrest. He was granted bail in the sum of $8,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on July 02, 2018. 

Arrested/Bailed: Pia Joyde Nisbett of Upper Monkey Hill was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and for Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply. She was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for her appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate court on July 02,2018.

Persons whose packages were stolen at Post Office still waiting for compensation
Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 13, 2018 – It is nearly a year since the General Post Office (US mailbox section) was burglarized and customers are still waiting for compensation.
The post office was broken into during the evening of June 18 or the early morning of June 19 and was closed for a period of time for police to carry out an investigation and the postal authorities to assess the damage.
“Upon reopening of its doors, customers whose valuable and expensive items were stolen were told to leave their invoices along with their contact numbers, however nothing was done by the authorities,” said an individual, who spoke on condition that her name is not used.

 BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, June 12, 2018 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – Since assuming office, the Team Unity-led Government of St. Kitts and Nevis has taken the necessary steps to improve the working conditions of law enforcement officers. This type of investment in the security forces will once again be demonstrated when the government introduces revised travel and displacement allowances for security officers in the Federation.

REPORT OF ARRESTS, CONVICTIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES

 Basseterre, St. Kitts, June, 10 2018 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of arrests, convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period June 03-08, 2018.

 ARRESTS AND BAIL:

 Arrested: Theodore Williams of McKnight was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Larceny and Escaping Lawful Custody.

Arrested: James Hamm of Sandy Point was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Malicious Damage and being found in a private enclosed premises.

Arrested: Clovis Pemberton of Boyds Project was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for two (2) Counts of Forgery of St. Kitts and Nevis Driver’s Licence.

 Arrested: Antonio Castro of Happy Hill, Newtown was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Driving Without Insurance and Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver’s License. He was granted bail in the sum of $7,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on July 05, 2018.

 COURT CONVICTIONS:

 In matters at the Basseterre Magistrate Court, which was presided over by His Honour Reynold Benjamin, the following was reported:

 – Julian Carty of Lower Monkey Hill pleaded guilty to the offence of Possession of Cannabis and was ordered to pay $1,000 within one (1) month or, in default, serve three (3) months imprisonment.
